An award winning competition project – of Ramathibordi Sri Ayutthaya Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. From the site and requirement constraints – the building can claim to be the hospital (OPD) with the smallest floor plate in Thailand yet still offers its highest efficiency and flexibility for the future conversion.
Under the core concept idea of “GIVING NEVER ENDING” while aiming to be future hospital. The building behaves as a public space for the neighborhood area – creates the value of giving back to the community. In parallel with giving back to the world by giving the importance of being such a sustainable building for both during the construction and operation phases.
The ambition is to capture a building with such timeless architectural language. That speaks out from its functions and while being complements by the aesthetic.
The building is designed to be 2 separated towers, lower and high. The lower tower serves as a public building with including programs of retail, seminar and wellness center. While the main tower will present as main hospital program. Which has been divided into departments vertically. The parking area is mainly reserved underground in order to open space above ground for the public access and facilities. The design is trying to convey the new perception of hospital design by introducing the public linkage such “Great Giving Stair” to join between Sri Ayutthaya Road and the Airport link platform at the back road. This is part of curing and giving back to the society by improving the connection linkage between public spaces – bringing life back to the society.
